The Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze 2018

Adventures in the Hudson Valley

On our little trip upstate earlier this month, we made the trek up to Croton-on-Hudson for the Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze 2018. The Hudson Valley is full of wonderful festivities throughout October specifically. I’m so happy we got to stroll through this one.

What is the Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze?

The Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze features seven-thousand illuminated pumpkin carvings. They’re put together in beautiful installations. Some move, some are interactive, some are just pure spectacles. It was an incredible experience. If you’re up in the Hudson Valley in the month of October, I’d 100% recommend popping up to Croton-on-Hudson for this experience.

What was it like?

First and foremost, I’d recommend dressing warmly. You’re going out after sundown in October… it’s going to be a little chilly. You can pick up a beer or some cider on the way into the experience before you walk through. It takes about an hour of walking through installations and it’s likely there will be lots of families and Instagram-happy groups around you.

How do I get tickets?

Get your tickets ahead of time online to print or have on your phone. While you’re at it, take a look at Hudson Valley’s other awesome October experiences!
