4 Things Every #BossBabe Needs to Hear

Working hard and achieving can result in an enormous amount of pressure on oneself. Even if you’re getting positive feedback, there are certain things you just need to hear from time to time to keep yourself on track. So, here are my reminders to every #BossBabe out there that needs to hear it.

You can ask for help.

Never be afraid to ask others for help. Whether it’s at work, school or on your personal projects, we all need a helping hand every once in a while. It doesn’t make you any less talented, smart, or successful to need to reach out for help.

You can make mistakes.

Everybody makes mistakes –– that is how you learn. I cannot tell you how many unsuccessful desserts I’ve baked, how many terrible magazine layouts I’ve designed, and how many mistakes I’ve learned from. You can recover, learn, and move forward from any issue you may face.

You can extend your personal deadlines.

We are all guilty of stressing over deadlines we’ve created for ourselves. It doesn’t matter if something isn’t going as planned. If you’ve set a deadline for yourself, it means that the only person counting on you is you

You don’t always need to be on point.

Some days you just need to skip your makeup routine. Some days you need to rock the cozier pants. Some days you forget to brush your hair. You don’t always need to be on point because you are human, and you’re doing just fine. At the end of the day, you’re still conquering the world.

Got another tip for fellow #BossBabes that you wish someone had told you? Leave it in the comments below!

4 Things Every #BossBabe Needs to Hear

  1. Rose says:

I don’t have any tips to offer but I always love when others promote, support and encourage others!

  2. This is all so true! And exactly what I needed to hear right now. I find myself stressing so much over things that honestly don’t matter as much as I tell myself they do. We all need to know it’s okay to just breathe. Ask for help, take a break or just slow down a little!

  3. Great reminders here. I’d also add that it’s important to take time out for yourself. It can’t always be about work, Life will fly by without you experiencing it, and when that happens, it completely defies the entire reason for being in charge.

  4. Thanks for this! A lot of ladies feel like we have to be "on" and on top of things 24/7 when that’s just not reality.

  5. Thank you for writing this, all such good points! If I had to add a tip I would say, if you feel like you need to take a day off, do it! Even if you don’t have an appointment of other obligation, take it just for you. You may feel guilty, but your work product the following day will be wonderful as a result.

These are great tips and pointers! It’s totally acceptable to make mistakes, especially if you learn from them or learn to help others from them.

Really great post. Even thou it is hard for me to admit when I have problems but I admit. I try to ask for help and happy to give help as much as I can.

  8. Love this, shot, sweet and straight to the point. Of course it is also full of nuggets. Might even share this at work today! Great post!

  9. This is amazing and exactly what I feel I needed to hear at the end of this week. Sometimes, running your own business can be super overwhelming!

  10. ssawciki@shaw.ca says:

Thanks for the reminder, I do always feel i need to be on point.

I loved this, it really gave me pause for thought, being a girlboss can be so much hard work. Sharing this!

Thank you for this, some days I just feel so overwhelmed. I need to remember that making mistakes and asking for help is okay, and will actually aid in my success.

  13. esmaros@gmail.com says:

I think asking for help reluctantly is more of a trust thing from both sides, aside from just lacking confidence or being afraid to ask. That said, I 100% agree with everything here.

  14. lisariosonline@gmail.com says:

I usually don’t allow myself to make mistakes or ask for help, and I think I need to work on that. It’s mostly because of my environment, which isn’t very healthy at the moment, but I can definitely do some inner work.

  15. This is actually what I needed to hear right now because I’ve been overworking myself into a nervous breakdown! Thank you for sharing!

  16. I guess that love that last line, "You don’t always need to be on point." That’s so true, sometimes we have to go take the other side of the raod which mean try staying out of your comfort zone and try new things. Often we want to be perfect as we could but there are times that we have to just go on with the flow.

  17. evelyn@evelynforeman.com says:

Love these points as they give permission, and allow one to simply be. Being aligned to her highest truth, giving oneself permission, and acting according to our highest needs is a very good thing πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ’ xo Evelyn, PathofPresence πŸ¦‹

  18. These are excellent reminders. It’s important to remember that we’re all human and we are imperfect.
